RSS

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". RSS allows you to both get a feed from another website or send a feed to anyone who picks up the link to your feed. Your RSS feed may be your latest news stories, an action alert or an announcement. Its whatever content you choose to send from your website.

 

RSS feeds can be embedded into another website or they can be read with your web browser or with a special RSS reader that can collect all your favorite feeds into one spot. Do you have a customized Google or Yahoo home page? Do you have boxes with information from your favorite newspapers or TV news stations? Those are RSS feeds. They stay updated automatically because the information is coming from their website, rather than from the company that is supplying your home page.
